Billing class is used to categorize patients based on their method of payment or the type of insurance coverage they have. This classification helps in managing the billing process more efficiently and ensures accurate processing of payments. Their purpose is to streamline the billing and payment process, facilitate proper charge capture, and ensure that billing procedures align with the patient’s financial responsibilities and insurance policies.
Billing Class is Used in Hospital Software

• During the patient registration or admission process, the billing class is assigned based on the information provided by the patient or their guarantor.
• Generates bills or invoices according to the billing class.
• Determines the format and content of the bill, including any necessary breakdowns or explanations.
• Applies appropriate discounts, adjustments, or payment plans based on the billing class.
• For insured patients, the billing class dictates the insurance claim submission process and also ensures that claims are formatted correctly and submitted to the appropriate insurance provider.

• Refresh Button - The refresh button updates the current view or report with the latest available data.
• Name: The name of the billing class.
• Description - A detailed explanation of what the billing class encompasses.
• Bill Class Type - The categorization of the billing class based on specific criteria such as patient type, service type, or payment method.
• Preview - A feature that allows users to view a summary of the billing class details before finalizing or making changes.
• Edit - The functionality that allows users to modify the details of an existing billing class.

Click on Add Tag

• Name: The name of the billing class.
• Bill Class Type - The categorization of the billing class based on specific criteria such as patient type, service type, or payment method.
• Background Color - The color used as the backdrop for certain elements or sections in the software interface.
• Text Color - The color used for the text displayed in the software.
• Disease Code - A standardized code used to identify and classify diseases and medical conditions.
• Segment Rank - A ranking or ordering of segments, which could refer to different patient groups, service categories, or priority levels within the software.
• Description - A detailed explanation of what the billing class encompasses.

Click on Bill Classes

• Bill Class Type - The categorization of the billing class based on specific criteria such as patient type, service type, or payment method.

To edit the patient class status - click on patient navigation

By clicking on Patient Navigation the landing page for the patient will be seen -

Clicking on create navigation will open the details of the patient where we can change the billing class of the patient.
